Greetings all.
I haven't been around much lately but wanted to share the results of last week's shoot. Had a good morning with the goats before weather changed mid-day.

Had a chance to take the relatively new 12-24 out for some of the landscape shots. All the animals were shot with 70-200, 80-400. Used my Sekonic L-758dr meter for the manual exposures and was very happy with its performance. Consistently provided from 1/3 stop to a full stop different exposure than the in-cam
Hope everyone's having a productive, adventurous and safe summer thus far.
You've got some nice images there, John, esp. some of the baby goat ones. This one here isn't doing much for me just due to the way the in-focus baby kinda gets lost in front of the out of focus one directly behind. But the one with the baby perched on the rock is fantastic, as are some others. I like how you composed your summit sunrise shot to include the little peakfinder device. I'd never thought of that. I think it's ingenious!
Hi Claude,
Thanks. This one looks better at full-resolution. The tones of the two sheep compete too much here in the low-res version, but in the high-res version the sharpness of the baby's fur against the softness of moma's really help it. This is one of those I wanted so much to move for, and put moma to the upper right creating a nice triangle, but if I'd done that things would have fallen apart pretty quickly. They were pretty sensitive. Guess you had to be there. And peak finder thing was funny. I had the shot all framed up, looked through the viewfinder and thought, "wait a minute... it would be cool to have that thing pointing at the sun, rather than off in another direction..." so I moved it. Thanks for noticing ;-).
Thanks everyone. I'm encouraged-but challenged by the outing. I didn't get what I wanted, but what I have now is better than before that trip. The fun is in the "hunt."

I was in a hurry ;-)...
My favorite is of the three kids following mom! Ditto on your Sunrise shot – that is a great choice for a foreground anchor.
Get shots! I just love those goats! My favorites are 8,11,18, and 20. The sunset is stunning!
