For a 4th of July it was a pretty pleasant evening last night - usually it's much warmer. I did have some serious condensation issues as my lens was pointed to the sky. Cleaning it would work for about 5 minutes and then it would completely fog over. It's kind of understandable since every unprotected surface was coated with dew.
This image is just after sunset (before the fireworks) showing our very interesting moon.
And here's one of the fireworks shots that came out OK. Some of the bright dots are stars and not burning embers.

These are both nice Tim. The reflection of the moon in the first picture is kind of fun and the second image, well I just really like the color of the flames. Looks like it was a 4th to remember.
I like them both, but the fireworks image is especially eye-catching. The color of the streaming flame is nice, and the white embers add a whimsical feel. Beautiful shots!
Next time you're out shooting at night, you might try one of those battery-powered camping fans at Wal-Mart if you think there might be some condensation on the lens. It helps to have two tripods - one to shoot with and another to hang the fan on.

Great tip on the fan, Bill - I'll have to give that a try.
