Since there are far too many lillys posted over in the fauna forum, I decided to spread the love a little bit. Also, I have a question about cropping. Should i crop this tight to the anthers, i think they are sharp enough to get pretty close, or should i leave it as is. (i'm not a giant fan of this crop, it feels cluttered). Thanks!
I think moving a bit to the left and looking back right so that one stamen (?) wouldn't line up with the edge of the middle petal would have really added a notch to this one.
Another way to feature the fg lily, now that you have the capture, is to apply a gaussian blur to the bg. In the field, the aperature was just enough to achieve detail in the fg lily and would have softened the bg had the lily been farther away from the bg flowers. That said, there's good color and detail and the comp shows the bg flower mirroring the form of the subject; love that.
