I spent this past weekend exploring Taylor Park on a long backcountry motorcycle trip. Here's a shot that I took of sunset over a high alpine lake. If you would like to see more photos and read about the trip, visit the link below:
Scott - sounds like you guys had a fun trip! The alpine lake shots are great.
What type of photo pack did you use to keep your gear dry and mud-free? (I am currently looking for something compact to carry my digital on mountain biking trips.)
I like both of the rainbow shots a lot. My only nit is something you'll probably tell me to go jump in a lake over: Alpine lakes are above treeline, in the alpine zone.
Scott, great picture!! And your website have my kind shots!! I am sure you had fun on the bikes!! Wider version is amazing too.... beautiful place...you have done justice to the beauty of that area..regards, Rajeev
Kalin: No issues with "roads" but still some snow in the shady parts of the forest on the singletrack.
Rene: Check out the Lowe Pro Apex AW series camera pouches and find one with a belt loop. On this trip, I used a large Camelback and ran the hip strap through the belt loop on the pouch. The camera took less impact as it was on my torso and was easily accessible. The AW series have a waterproof pouch that packs in like a hood and pulls out easily.
Todd: Thanks for the heads up on "alpine." You are correct and I will make changes accordingly.
Dave: I'll have to take a look at my topo as I can't remember which mountain this is.
