Stoat - Standing tall
Hi to all,

Firstly , thanks for all the very nice comments on my first Stoat shot , they really are appreciated.

This shot was one of the first I managed to capture and is one of my favourites , I think his pose is superb and shows off his gorgeous white underside a treat , this was brought about by forgetting to put the camera onto silent single shot mode and he's just discovered what 10 frames a second sounds like and to my amazement it didn't phase him one bit , in fact he was fascinated by the sound of the shutter and couldn't get enough of it  , thanks for looking.

Converted in DPP / Processed in CS2 ( Slight crop for comp )

Canon 1D3 , 500F4IS+1.4T/c , Gitzo1325 , Wimberley v2
1/320th @ F5.6 +1/3rd E/comp iso400

All comments welcome

Regards

Pity about the OOF BG flower heads but the main subject more than makes up for those by along way. Very nice. :toast:
They are very curious at times and I have managed to squeak them up so close that you just cannot focus on them.

Hi Major , I never noticed the OOF flowers , I must have missed those whilst being lost in the moment  , cheers Andy...

Another very nice shot Andy I love the expression on the face  I would however like to see a vertical crop to get rid of the hanging twigs on the top right hand side as I think it would focus more attention on the subject.

Another cracker Andy. I think I too would be tempted by a vertical ... possibly ..!

Nice, I do think there is a tad too much negative space on the right although it is difficult to suggest any alternate crops, if you go square it loses its dynamic appeal so I too would go for the vertical crop as suggested by Ian...

great to get one of these...

Even better than the first image Andy. I agree a portrait format would also work but as a totally different type of image. So basically I think you have two very good same/but different images in one here. Although not a big fan of cloning I think I would be tempted to clone out the dangling twigs on RHS of this particular crop.
Lovely image.

I love this positioning in the frame, I would leave it exactly as it is. super shot.

For what it's worth, I completely agree with leaving this as it is. Great shot.

I agree, I think this is a beautiful picture, that was my instant reaction. So natural - one could almost be there, a wonderful capture.

I am sure he knows the sound of a 1D3.
The twig over his head is like an umbrella.
my compliment Andrew.

Nice comp Andy - I like it as it is :toast:

I might be tempted to dot out some of those specular highlights in the BG, but I just love the pose - nice one :wavey:
