Found this little chap when I was after Dippers the other week, he kept popping into the wall and seemed to be none too happy I was there.

a lovely portrait and a nice perch. Never easy as they don't hang around for long. Some may prefer the background to be cleaner but I like the natural feel to it.

Very nice Ian , like the perch and the expression , looks like a young'un so maybe he was waiting to be fed , i'm like that sometimes

Well I would have loved to see this with a cleaner BG, but at f5.6 you got about as clean as you could get Ian - very nice capture :wavey:

Personally I'd crop some off the top and bottom and then lose most of the nettle on the right in order to keep the aspect ratio - that's just my thoughts

Looks OK to me.

Nice shot and the perch is a welcome difference from the usual. Maybe he was unhappy you'd encroached into his territory?

Thanks for the replies,

I suspect I was somewhere near his nest which accounts for the expression
