Little Owl
40D, 400/2.8 + 2x, Gitzo Scaffoldpod, step ladder, 393 head. Camo cover
ISO400, 1/250 @ f10, manual exp.
C1 v4 + CS3

Hi,

From Friday at approx 5.30am... Not the image I was after there is a perch that they often use lower down and I had gone with all the height I could muster plus the 2x to further lower the angle... the Owl unfortunately had other ideas and kept repeatedly perching elswhere....

A little unhappy with the missing feet but you can't win them all...

Phil

Great effort we do the best we can with what prevails. The details are clear and I like it.

I have to agree about the feet, its a shame as otherwise its a very well framed and composed image.

Missing feet don't bother me on this one either. Excellent composition, setting, background and pose. Well worth the obvious effort you put in.

Nicely framed by the tree and fab eye contact. Not sure I'd have managed anything focused at all up a ladder with a long lens!

Lack of feet doesn't bother me Phil - you don't actually notice it too much due to the owl and the tree being the same (ish) colour and tone.

What a sky - where on earth did you find that then??

Excellent sharpness and lighting, cracking exposure control and a lovely comp - nice one Phil :toast:

Stay well matey

Agree with the unanimous feeling that the 'lack of feet' does not detract in the slightest. Its a great shot with plenty of punch and colour. I think your planning and endeavours have paid off, even if it is not quite what you had planned. :toast:
