I sincerely hope I'm not boring anyone with these macro shots but I couldn't resist posting this one from yesterday - the breeze was a big problem so I shot an awful lot of frames to make sure I got it right.
Another excellent image Andy , superb detail and sharpness in the head and a lovely BG , comp is very nice though i'd like a little more of the image on the lefthand side so the flower comes straight out of the diagonal.
The stack has worked really well. I love the striking and bold composition here. A very different and challenging shot IMO. Had a look at the gallery - the quality just gets better and better!
Your still using the D2X Andy?? I thought you have forgotten it and left it in a cupboard somewhere
Nice image, i'm most impressed with your Dragonfly images, wish i had some more time to get out and about.

Now why on earth would I do that Paul - it's still the best box o'tricks for recording hi-res low noise detail that Nikon have produced - the D300 can't hold a candle to it for low iso performance, and it won't be going anywhere near a cupboard for a bloody long time
Very impressive Andy. I love the comp on this one. It seems a shame to call them common when you see this level of detail. Eric

Hi Andy,
I must check out all those macro images you've been posting in my absence! I’ve always liked the appearance and detail from stacked images but never thought it would be possible on a subject like this but you’ve proved me wrong again! Beautiful image! The larger version is very impressive!

There's a low quality 100% crop off the final tiff here http://wildlifeinpixels.com/img/cm1/WIP00012493crop.jpg which shows the level of detail in the eyes well.
