Velvet swimming crab (or devil crab)
I got my housing for my SLR over a month ago and have only managed to use it once with the weather we've had. Not upset with my first efforts - it;s much harder than using a compact underwater! I think the soft coral to the right of the crab is a touch over exposed and maybe I've over sharpened?

Canon 5D, Sigma 50mm macro, IKELITE housing, Inon strobes, f16, 1/60s, ISO 100.

C&C Welcome
Cheers

Nice shot Matt , great camouflage , like the iridescent blue on the claws and those striking red eyes.

NIce image Matt I have always used a compact when diving because of the cost of the housing for an SLR. I also like having the screen on the camers to compose with.

As for the UK weather  best treat yourself to a holiday abroad :toast:

Hi Matt,

Looks good to me! I find using any camera in the water a nightmare but I'm going to learn!

Nice one Matt, I see what you mean about the hot coral, but it is no big deal for me.

certainly an interesting and different subject matter, well captured.

Looks fine to me Matt - white soft coral is a bit of a b****r when dark subjects insist on sitting amongst it. Doesn't bother me at all as it is an insignificant area. And no - it doesn't look oversharpened.
Crap weather has also prevented me getting in the water - only two dives in the UK so far this year which is an all-time abyssmal record for me!
The 5D is a great underwater tool - I have used one for two years now and it still amazes me.
