In a world where so many of our subjects are camouflaged to blend into the background, why do some plants and animals advertise their presence with showy displays of colors, patterns and behaviors? It’s another form of protection – just the opposite of camouflage, but it works. Displaying your weapons, like big teeth and fangs are obvious warning signs. Others are not so obvious, like the bright colors in tropical frogs that say “I may be small, but touch me and you will die!” That biology lesson has not been posted in this week’s weekly challenge yet, and nobody has posted dominance displays, and bluff charges of vertibrates yet either. I know many NPNers have photographs that can teach us a thing or two about nature's warnings. Check out this week’s Weekly Challenge Gallery and add your own biology lesson.

Hey Carol, did you forget? You're supposed to be using a pencil held in your teeth -- not your fingers!

I hope the recovery is speedy.
