common hawker (headshot)

nice crab shot matt, the weather is why i've been concentrating on land stuff, and these have been giving me a runaround, buggers!!

sorry not a patch on your stuff mr astbury, how do you get them on those perches? bait them with luncheon meat?? mine only ever land on deep hairy and wrong way facing vegetation.

anyway, due to the above, could only get this that looked even hlaf decent.

ring flash, puff of.

Hi Mark,

A different kind of macro shot that is usually posted here! I really like your choice of composition. A touch bright for my taste though,

I can appreciate you wanting to stay on terra firma with all this good weather we’ve been having!

Too hot for me Mark I'm afraid. The bar is getting a bit high on these things nowadays!

Eric sums this one up pretty well, Mark.
Apart from the chopped legs the composition is not all bad. Something to work on this summer?

Cheers,
John

a touch overexposed as said above, good composition though. I think this is a Southern Hawker rather than a Common Hawker, the leading edge of the wings is yellow in the latter.
