Yellow Legged Clearwing
Yellow legged Clearwing (Aegeria vespiformis)
Great little moths these. They lay eggs behind Oak bark on felled trees usually, and are day fliers. This one found late in the evening so fairly static. Not as common as the white barred in the forest here.
Playing around with a Sigma 50 mm plus a No 4 close up lens.

That's handsome John, I've never seen them before. Lovely colours and a fine shot.

a very attractive moth, nicely captured. Perhaps the composition would be improved if the moth were rotated clockwise slightly (so that it was diagonal pointing to the top right and bottom left corners). Maybe, but maybe not.

ooh that's a nice little creature, what a fluffy bum.

nice find and nice capture. i find the flash on some parts of the leaf a little distracting, but minorly so.

regards,

mark.

I agree with Matt regarding composition.
Good clean colours and nice contrast between subject and perch (?)

Excellent unusual subject. Your use of ring flash inspires me to persevere with mine.

Nice, image, the contrasting colours are quite nice, nighting isnt too harsh either.
