While I'm in the area for some wildflower shooting, I'd like to do some panoramic shooting of the Sneffels range. I read on this forum that Log Hill Road would be a good location for this. I can't seem to find any information on where this road is located. Would anyone be willing to tell me where it is? Feel free to email me privately if you'd like to keep the location non-published. Thanks!!

Head west out of Ridgway. About a mile or two west of town, you'll see a paved road heading north. There should be a sign for the Fairway Pines golf course. Follow this road to the top of the hill. You'll need to work your way out to the edge of the escarpment for the "HUGE VIEW" It's all private property but there are a few lots for sale that you can drive to. Also, there is an easement of 25' from the edge of the escarpment for public access along the entire ridge. Give me a call in the evening if you want exact roads to turn on to get to the lots for sale.

As you're heading up the hill after the first hairpin turn there is a turnout on the road just prior to a hairpin to the left. I shot sunrise from there last fall and it has a good view. You're looking out over houses but you have a nice view of the farms in the vally, dallas divide, and the Sneffels range and over to the Cimmarons. There is only room for one or two cars.
I'm not sure I know where Tony's escarpment is, I didn't have time to look for ways around private property when I was dashing to make sunrise.
