I didn't get a macro for this !
Badger.
This is daft !
I finally got the Sigma 150 yesterday. I was "playing" with it in the kitchen when this chap turned up. The stump etc is a set up where I have been doing them with flash. This was an early arrival at about 9 o'clock. The 2.8 really makes a difference.
Through the kitchen window.
D200 Sigma 150mm
800ISO
40th sec.@f3.5
Not a photographic masterpiece but an interesting one I thought.
Cheers

I think this is a great image! Really nice setting, nice alert pose, really detailed, great exposure! I really think this is a great badger shot!! I guess I'd be tempted to snip a bit off the bottom, and tis a shame you can see the peanuts, although I didn't notice them when I first looked. It has a really nice feel to it.

A versatile lens!! :toast:

(Wish our windows were this clean!! )

very nice he looks a bit wet and the lighting is great, the peanuts aren't that bad but the plant pot is, if it was a bit more prominent in the picture it might tell a story about badgers in gardens but at the moment i think it's somewhere in inbetween not being noticeable and being part of the image, anyway considering this is a grab shot

have you considered luring them onto that stump? that might make for some really nice shots as the ferns look great

Thanks
Yes I have been doing them on the stump as thats what the set up was for really, but I have'nt got them posing properly yet !! One of the fox cubs has been on the stump too. I'll get there eventually !

Keep trying John, you'll get there in the end.
I have to say this would be the end for me, it's a fine shot and I would be wildly happy with one like this. You must be pleased with this.

Plant pot and Peanuts aside I think it's a lovely shot , must be fantastic to have Badgers visiting your garden , very envious indeed.

Andy...

Hi John, always the way when you have a new toy you don't get to use it for what it's meant for straight away.
 Lovely photo, I feel very jealous.

Don't knock the macro... when I first went to India, I used the fast f/2.8 on tigers! Love the badger shot. Looks like its got a little zebra in him with those stripes. So envious that you have such ready access to them  :toast:

Hi John,

Congrats on your new lens! This is a belting grab shot with a new lens! I can only image what the next shot will be like when you intentionally set out to photograph them! Top stuff as usual Mr Robinson!
