This - for me anyway - is the last brown bear! Same mother as Danny and Edwin have posted and the same cub that tried to climb in my hide! Always alert to the presence of other bears although in reality, fatalities are quite rare.
Now finalised detail's for next summer's trip, so anyone interested, just drop me a line.
Best mother and cub shot on here to date, uncluttered, shallow DOF,brilliant!!!!!

great setting and detail, a lovely scene too, i'm guessing the centralised comp is because you wanted to include the line of sight of the cub, still i think it would have worked a bit better if the right hand side of the frame were up to the out of focus bush, anyway it still works so lovely shot

Really like it, comp works for me with a great setting, nice light and that all important eye contact.
A really lovely image

Excellent. I reckon it has to be in the centre with both animals looking in different directions.Always a pain to crop!

I really think you have the DoF right on this shot. The Bg is just sharp eough to suggest the environment and just Oof enough to let the bears stand out. I think that is a pretty good crop as John says it's awkward when they are looking in different directions. Excellent image. Eric
Very nice Peter... Just love the poses of both... I would however prefer a little bit more room below and just a fraction less on the left, that protective pose though is superb...
yes, the protective pose is lovely. An excellent image.

Love the setting and the eye contact. I would have liked to have seen them more room for the cub to look into and more room for the virtual legs. Still a very charming image.
Beautiful image! The composition doesn't bother me other than the lack of canvas for the virtual feet! (Poor things have their feet cut off like that! ).
Stunning work Peter, I really like this image and it speaks volumes about the situation. Agree with Phil's comment about a little more room at the bottom, but otherwise it really is very nice. So envious.
