Osprey Emerging
Another from my osprey trip.
Most birds will take the trout straight from the surface and fly straight off, this one caught a much heavier rainbow trout and remained motionless on the surface few a few seconds alowwing for better composition,it could be cropped but I prefer the water droplets surrounding the bird.

Hi Craig,

Nice shot that needs some redoing in CS. I hope you do not mind but I have had a tinker with it. The main problem is the highlights are very hot, so I have adjusted them with the shadow/highlight slider, the highlight slider is put up to 100% and they are still a little hot, so if you can have a play with the highlights on the RAW file. I have also lowered the exposure a touch, given it a little more saturation and 3 rounds of USM at 100,0.2,0.
If you want me take it down I will do so.

Tremendous action shot. It's a wonder that they can ever get going again. You did well to capture this. Personally I think that the processing is not 100% right but I'm afraid I don't know enough to tell you what it is.
Fabulous shot all the same.

Very nice capture, I agree with you about not cropping as the water droplets add to it. As others have said the processing doesn't quite look right.

Hi Rob

Thanks for the tinkering, the shot was actually taken on a fairly overcast day and on my mac screen is spot on but looks a little flat on my pc laptop, I feel you've overcooked it just a touch and whilst it may look improved it now looks nothing like it did on the day.(oh for everyones monitor to be calibrated the same life would be great)

Thanks anyway

Its a great capture Craig, the droplets definitely add to it and agree about keeping them in. The repost looks a bit oversaturated in the background as mentioned.
