Birding Ridgefield NWR
Captured a NEW bird for me at Ridgefield a couple of days ago. A Swainson's Thrush, popped out of some brush for a quick pose. I know this image is slightly soft and will return to try again.

canon eos 40D, canon 600mm w/1/4X F/6.3 1/160 ISO 400 80% crop

Thanks for looking, comments and suggestions!

Hey, Craig, that's a great shot, comp-wise. What a great perch and pose. What else is around Ridgefield this time of year??

Hi Catherine, thanks for the comments.
Here is a link to the Friends of Ridgefield NWR site,

just click on the WEEKLY BIRD SIGHTINGS, OR FIELD GUIDE, at the top for a listing of updated sightings. Many birds and waterfowl have finished nesting but can still be found often with the young ones nearby.

Despite the softness, this is a very nice image, Craig. I think the brush is Mountain Ash.

Great capture of the bird Craig, and I especially like the surrounding vegetation (very complimentary). Nice composition.
