I am in the process of setting up my new computer and am running into some problems accessing the printer driver dialog box from within Photoshop.
Configuration: Windows Vista Ultimate, Photoshop CS, Epson 7600
I have downloaded and installed all the printer driver and related utilities as per Epson's web-site. However, when I open up the "print with preview" dialog box within Photoshop CS, I don't see the option to select the printer driver dialog box. I could go there when running Photoshop CS on Windows XP. What am I missing?
I'm coming from the Mac world Anil, so this is a real shot in the dark. But on my machine, only the printers that are turned on register in the dialog box. I don't see all the drivers that are waiting in the wings, but they don't appear till the printer is turned on. I have no idea if that applies to your case, but you might try turning on differenent printers to see if things change.

By printer driver do you mean the printer that you want to print on? I never had that in the print with preview dialog, only the profile. Once I click on the print button, I get another dialog box where I can choose the printer.
Or by printer driver do you mean the profile (icc/icm) to use when printing? For that you need to check the show more options box under the preview.
You should first also go to the Windoze Control Panel and open the Printers folder to see if your 7600 is there. If it is not, then you will have to reinstall the Epson driver.
Now, if I understand your question correctly, then Dan's first statement is what should happen: the little dialog box that pops up should list all the installed printers. When you select the Epson 7600 and click OK, it should open the Epson driver.
Hank: Thanks for the suggestion. I turned on the Epson 7600 (the only printer configured so far) and still no luck. I guess the Mac and Windows versions are a bit different in their behavior.
Dan: Yes, I meant the diaglog box that allows me to choose the printer I want to print on. As you mention, I get it from the "Print" button but I distinctly remember being able to bring up that same dialog box from the "Print with Preview" before going to "Print" in Windows XP. That way, I could see the image in the preview window and make sure that all was well before hitting the "Print" button. As its working now (in Vista), because I can only bring up the printer setting box from "Print" I have to make two passes to be able to see things in the preview window. Its not a big deal but a little annoying, given what I was used to so far. Do you know of a way in which I can make the printer driver related settings, see its effect in the preview window, and then commit to the "Print" option?
The Epson 7600 does show up in the Printers window within Windows Control Panel.
As I mentioned above, I can see the printer selection dialog box from within "Print". However, in Windows XP, it was available even before I was commiting to the "Print" selection. I think it was coming from the "Paper Selection" option. From there I would first select the printer, make some printer specific adjustments, the preview the image and only when was satisfied that all was well, I would commit to the "Print" button. On my new system (Vista) the working order seems different.
Anil, in the Print With Preview window click on Page Setup. There is a button at the bottom called "Printer" that allows you to select the printer and other properties if you choose to do so.
Yes, that is precisely the button I was looking for. I used to see it in Windows XP/PSCS but don't on Windows Vista/PSCS. I am not sure why that button (Printer) isn't there in the "Page Setup" diaglog box.
Anil, you might want to check with Adoobie to see if this is an issue w/Vista or PSCS. Is your version of PS up to date? There might be updates that will fix this, but I don't know for sure. I'm using XPSP-2 and CS2.

I hope you get it sorted out, Anil.
