Spectacled warbler
Another one from my recent holiday taken around 9pm the weather was absolutely baking hot well into the 90's & 100's every day as a result the wildlife didn't seem to like showing itself a lot.

Interesting, looks a little like or Dartford warbler? The warm light is great.

Nice image, i like the juxtaposition between the lush vegetation on the left and the dead branch the bird is perching on.. Nice work..

Hi Phillip,

I like the comp and colours of this, but for me needs some more USM as looks a tad soft to me.

Regards

Dave

It is not a Dartford, Phil's id looks spot on. The white throat patch and white eye ring distinguishes this from Subalpine and Dartford. Spectacled W are more like a pink chested Whitethroat.

I had the same heat problem in Italy, the Sardinian warblers around the hotel were just not playing ball so camera and lens never left my bag this year

What a comfortable pose!
I like the composition, it is different to the usual ones.
Light is great Phillip.
Greetings,

a very attractive image, well composed and I like the colours. Interesting to see another warbler so similar to our Dartford Warbler.

I like the pose and the lighting, just not sure about the vegetation on the left. I find it slightly distracting

Nice comp and the colours tell how hot it was. I don't mind the fg vegetation as the bird looks like he is heading there next.

Not seen one of these (nor any of the ones it's been confused with!) before. Lovely image - colours are something different again, but as someone else mentioned not sure if its a little soft around the eye of if its just the low res web image?
