At the risk of looking like a Dumbo, can I ask for a bit of advice? To complement a small display of some prints, I have been asked to supply a DVD containing a selection of my pictures for display in a local Wildlife Centre. They will be shown on a large screen TV display. My question is, "what is the best method of placing onto a DVD a series of images which will fade in / out and play on a continuous loop"?
I appreciate that this will probably be a very simple procedure for most of you but believe me when I say I'm a bit of a muppet when it comes to computer technology!
Thanking you in anticipation,
Robert

Hi Robert,

I think the easiest and simplest ( I am the same as you) for me Windows Movie Maker, free to download although if you have Vista you should already have it. (look in All Programs) You simply follow the steps from the top select what images you want drag and drop into which order then add your effects/music, then burn to DVD. Job Done!!

Regards

Rob

Hi Robert,

I was asking a similar question last week and Rob recommended Window maker to me. I have Vista and I started checking it out over the weekend and it is quite simple and it even has an AutoMoive that does a basic one for you! It does still images as well as moives! Try it out!

ProShow Gold - best product by far but you will have to pay for it.

If you don't intend doing this very often it might not be worth the investment but it's the standard by which other products pale into insignificance in my opinion

Most DVD's can play Jpegs in a slide show, and some now are very flash with random transitions too. Just depends on what you want to do?

If you have Windows XP you might have Sonic on the system, and I use this most days to make slide shows for customers wedding DVD's,it will allow you to add music as well...

Thanks all. I only need a very basic slideshow and so I'll be going for the cheaper options.
