Hi,

Another image from trip out yesterday.

These beetles were very abundant on the fen and seemed at first to be the only insect life around. However as the day warmed up, more species revealed them selves.

Thanks all,

Canon 20D | 180mm f/8, 1/15, ISO 400 | Tripod | 3 image stack

This is a species I've seen hundreds of times, but never seen such a great shot of it! Unfortunately your image stack has given it three antennae, and I would suggest cloning the extra one out!

Very nice image indeed, but like others have said the antennae problem jumps out a you..! Will be great once sorted.

Would be a gorgeous shot, if not for those crazy antennae. Definately get rid of the spares. Looks like one on the right and three on the left! I thought I was seeing things until I read it was a stack. Love the cool, blue light - really sets of the dew. :toast:

Wow, I think I need to revise my quality control procedure... I hadn't event noticed the multiple antennae.

Thanks.

a nice image Rob and the stacking has worked well apart from the antennae. I like the composition and the dew.

Looks lovely, extra appendages covered
Saw a couple of these round the local mere this weekend while we were trying to count butterfly numbers, but this is a great shot of them
