This osprey caught a fish most dives and had just plucked this trout from the waters surface.
This shot was taken at about 7.30 pm and the light was very harsh hence a few blown whites, the other issue is cropping I've cropped a little otherwise there would have been a very narrow bird and lots of empty space, wing clipping is inevitable as you have little time to compose but I like it the way it is.
Nice one, you have covered any real nits yourself, it may be possible to rescue just a little bit of detail in the whites, try lowering the contrast slightly first. As you are already clipping the wings I would crop the left so that it is clipped equal to the right wing and take a little of the top, IMO makes the composition just a little more dynamic (hope that makes sense).
Sorry had to have a play, will remove it if you want, cropped lowered contrast slightly added black to the whites in selective colour.... not a great improvement if any I know but worth a try I believe.

Both shots are terrific action shots, I would have been delighted to have either, but I suppose the edited one does just have the edge on it for me.
I like this shot, mainly for the eye direction of both the bird and the fish. Dare I say it the fish almost looks as if it is enjoying the ride! Exposure correction on re-post is an improvement but in my opinion the original crop was much better.
Nice classic action shot of a bird I have personally yet to see.

Composition and exposure nits aside, it's a fine bit of behaviour to have on file.
