Grey heron in flight
Hi all,

The weather was better on Sunday so I spent a few hours at the local park after finishing at the nature reserve. Apart from the GC grebes - now looking like they are rebuilding the nest after rearing one youngster (from what I could see) from an earlier brood - I thought I'd have a go at some flight shots and for the first time seem to have ended up with something half decent. There were quite a few herons, and juvenile ones, circling the lake in turn.

40D + Sigma 80-400 @ 400mm, for 1/1600 @ f10, ISO 640

All comments welcome,

Thanks

Thank you for posting your exif data. Shooting big blue against the sky is difficult and I always seem to get the numbers wrong.

i see that one comment though that it was a bit dark under the wings. I'll wager that you had to work to bring the light up!!
