My first photo on NPN
Hello, after having observed for many months NPN and this forum, I finally decided to join this friendly as valuable community of photographers.

Below you can find the first photo that I post here on NPN. Picture taken in Elgol on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. I was on the Isle of Skye only for 4 days in the beginning of May this year. That was my first trip to Scotland and to the Isle of Skye. From now on I know that definitely that was the last time :) This is a truly amazing place. I will probably show you some other photos from that trip :)

Photo was taken while waiting for the sunset with a group of fellow photographers with whom I made this trip. Slightly enhanced in Lightroom in order to add a little bit more of contrast. Gradual ND 0.9 was used in order to darken the sky.

Welcome to the forum. Definitely an attractive image and I'm no landscaper. Good depth of interest in foreground, middle and distance.

I'm no expert on landscapes but I know what I like and this one ticks all the right boxes. A lower point of few might have given more foreground interest, but is nice enough as is. A good account of yourself as a first post and I hope to see more.

Very nice shot. However, needs a degree or so clockwise rotation, as the horizon looks to be sloping very slightly to the left!

Dawn, this is very nice indeed. I am envious in fact, because I stood at the very same spot at 5.30am last month, but the weather was grey and horrible. I was horrified at the number of dust spots on my images, then realised they were midgies! This is a very beautiful image of a superb location. I might crop a little from the foreground to bring the Coulins in the background more into play.

Welcome along !!

I really really like this, just as I'm sure like many people are envious of the opportunity to take the shot. I would love to see this as a large print, my eyes would probably wonder around it for hours !

well done !

Not my scene Maciej but it needs to be.
looks ok to me like the way the FG and outcrop are lit leaving the BG in sombre mood. :toast:

Plenty of foreground interest and a nice shaded bg to make a nice balance, i think it needs a slight clockwise rotation though.

I Like it like most others but as stated by some camera shooting details would be handy & be sure to put the lens length used in as well as that can change to perspective of the picture especially a landscape.

Welcome, and I like your landscape. Very pleasing on the eye, I bet it looks good in a frame.
Best wishes

Thank you all so much for your kind words. Indeed I forgot to give the details - shame on me :(

Anyway photo was taken with Sony DSLR A700 coupled with Tamron 11-18mm, Cokin P ND gradual 0.9 all mounted on tripod of course. In fact all of my photos are taken with Minolta or nowadays Sony cameras as I am since many years using Minolta gear. I still use my Dynax 7 to take the diapos

Next time I will give all technical details immediately when posting the photo

Welcome Maciej.

I'm glad you enjoyed your time on Skye and managed to see some of Scotland without the rain!

I quite like this .
