Nice image, i think the central police will grumble though. How do you find the D3 and esp being full frame without the crop?

Nice portrait Major. Very hard to catch.
For the bird it does not matter the perch is wood or anything else.
cheers :toast:

That be a perch to be hold. Its not covered in Lichens its man made and its in keeping with modern times.
Forgot to remove dust bunny until it was to late. Doh old age again.
The D3 I like very much but am still struggling with it to some degree.
Being full frame has made me have to change some of my thinking. Now I have the D2X's + 1.4 + 300mm side by side with the D3 + 1.4 + 600mm. If its beyond the reach of the D3 I then change over body + conv thus avoiding exposing the chamber every time.
The dust on the D3 sensor was there right from it being new much to my anoyance.
If there was a nikon body that had the frame rate + superior low noise level + the smaller sensor it would suit just fine.
Many thanks for your comments.

Fine image Major. The perch doesn't bother me, although I'm sure better ones abound. Swallows are more often seen on man-made perches than natural ones around here, so it is entirely in keeping if a little dull. It certainly sets the colours off as does the excellent bg. The central police would have preferred it a little more to the right.
