I have a potential client who wants some outdoor portraits. I will probably meet with them next week after I return from backpacking this weekend.

I have a general idea of what the market price is for session fees and image files or prints based on a search for local photographers.

For those of you who make portraiture a part of your business model or have done it on the side, I'd be interested in what you charge or guidelines for setting prices. Any other tips are always appreciated.

If you'd prefer not to discuss your prices in the forum, feel free to email me at 'kalin at kalinwilson dot com'

Note that I'll be offline Friday afternoon through Monday.
Thanks in advance!

I geneerally charge 110% over the cost of materials for prints and $25 per hour for the shoot. In many cases a $75.00 sitting fee is basic.

I usually do $75 an hour and 40% over costs for prints.
