Black Darter covered in dew
Canon 10D, Sigma 180mm, F16, iso 100, 1/30, Tripo, Cable release.

Taken three years ago, I have blended four images together to get the depth of field needed to get the whole image sharp. :wavey:

Guy its a great subject with all that dew etc but feel you may have overdone it on the sharpening turning the wings into a frosted appearance. I may be wrong of course.

Very nice and well captured. I would really want to see a close-up just of the wings. I bet it would like diamonds and pearls.

Yes great shot but I feel the frosted look is a lilltle overpowering. Great teqnique (?) though.

It works for me but I'm wondering why there isn't any dew on the grass stem..? Did you use a mister..?

I suspect that this looks even better at full res. Even so I like it a lot.

Hello Brett.

Thanks for your comment.

No mister used this is as is, the only thing done was to use a couple of canes to move the long grasses out of the way to make for a clear background.

Hello Eric.

You are quite right looks a lot better at full at full res. The low res image as suffered I think due to the amount of detail in the wings. :wavey:

Works for me too... Stunning in fact. It looks like a diamond broach-pin! Excellent technique. :toast:
