I stopped off at a bluff site outside of Port Townsend, WA on Friday afternoon. The tide was in, the weather relatively calm, and nothing was happening . . . at least until I turned around and saw this eagle perched in a treetop about 75 feet away.
I spent the next hour, taking several more than 200 images in all sorts of poses . . . waiting for him to decide to take off. Finally, since my wife and I were going out to dinner, I got ready to leave. I had some good photos, even if they weren't the ones I was waiting for.
As I got ready to put everything away, guess who started stretching? Sure enough, less than a minute after I was back in position, the launch took place!
Patience, patience, patience . . .

I've given some thought to the white speck . . . I think it might be good to take it out for smaller size prints, but keep it in larger ones. It's a downy feather that came off the eagle as it launched.
Awesome good picture. Lovely bird.
About the white feather I think I agree with you as long as you can it is a feather leave it there otherwise remove it.

Could go either way on that, though . . .
