Puffin poser - fun in the Farnes

It was interesting to come back from a few days in the Farnes and see the recent threads that have been posted and the variety of views expressed. It was the first time I have been to a 'hotspot' and I had two very different days. On the first, it was just like the bank of lenses shown in the recent post and I never wanted to go back again - I was surprised, as it was past the prime time for several of the species. However, I did return later in the week, and I was glad I did as only seven of us landed on Staple Island, with the other six being tourists or birders. Puffins and terns all to myself  With nobody else to bother them the puffins soon left the cliff side of the boundary rope and wandered around over my bag and feet .. a great experience.

Took a few shots (well, quite a few ...) of which this is one. Comments welcome as ever.

Excellent close up Dave. A tiny bit light on mine but could be the monitor.
Cheers

Agree with John on this one. A great portrait with lots of detail except where the white is blown out on the chest but I guess this may be salvaged when the whole image is toned down a little.

Kind regards,

Brett.

Terrific shot. I think I agree with the former two gentlemen about the white (I'm not completely sure).
