57 views and no comments on this one. Hhhmm, well I already said my cents on Flickr but this is one great shot IMO!

Excellent work and very good use of the soft grad. How did you select the exposure time, or did you let the D300 metering do the job?

Very nice, love the pebbles as they disappear into the water.

I agree with Cliff..... Very nice shot.. I watched the sunrise from home and know it was special. I was sick all weekend and missed some great light. I'm glad someone nailed it!

Pretty shot, Darren - you nailed it! You might like the East Fork if you get up there early in the day..

With all the open space in the water (for text) I'm thinking would make a great magazine cover or stock ad photo. Sweet shot!

I'll have to agree with Eric on the area for text. It is a sweet shot lacking only a main area of focus. Well there's the sky but does that count?

Jack: I love the FG stones and the way they just sort of recede into the water. The overall color cast to the image is, well, hot, but I like. I'm just having some trouble with the big blob of cloud on the R side. It doesn't seem to fit with the feel of the rest of the shot - it's just too big and dark.

I like this a lot Darren. The way the reflective pebbles blend into the smooth water is cool, and the sky is a great icing. I do agree the cloud is just a tad to dark to fit well with the rest of the photo, but lightening it just a bit should be easy enough.

Great shot! :toast:

Really amazing colors, Darren. You bagged one of the better sunrises of the year imo. How did you end up with exactly 4.75 of a soft grad, if I might ask....

BTW, I LOVE the moving clouds on the Right side, that is what really makes the photo for me.
