Cracking image with the midges really adding something IMO. A question, if he was hungry and he obviously knows you are in there, how much of a risk is it that you and your hide get ripped apartt??? Just curious, as this would be something I would love to do, but at the far end of my 600 thanks!!!!
It's a fact that this male can enter the hide if it wants to. But they won't. They are not hungry because there is lots of food. They just love to eat wild berries as it is 80% of their diet. Also they don't have any bad experiences with humans. They don't come near you but are also not running away from you. They know you are there but are just not interested. On our way to the hides we walked between two bears at a distance not more than 60 feet. Amazing!!!
Sorry I have been a bit ignorant, just been a bit hectic at this end as I have been a little busy getting the Centre open. It was a pleasure to meet you. By the way, thanks for the images you sent via email, much appreciated
These Bear shots you & Danny have taken are amazing & the experience you must have had must of been out of this world. (Understatement)
With the description of the hide & the closeness you were to the Bears, I would have probably had to wear a nappy if I was there. Fairplay.

Having not been around for a while forgive me for asking but was this taken in Finland, close to the Russian border by chance?
