Slavonian Grebe at dawn
A rare perfect dawn a few weeks ago. Only around 50 pairs of Slavonian Grebes breed in Scotland and most of those on one loch near Inverness. This was a local off-duty bird fishing a pool near home.

Canon 1dsMII, 300mm, ISO200.

I don`t do dawns, either; only dusks! Wonderfully atmospheric shot, and well worth getting up early for. Would clone out that white speck in the water, just to the left of the grebe, and parallel to the reflection of the head.

Very nice love the look and feel of the image.

Very atmospheric shot Pete.

You might want to straighten the image up a touch - a degree or so CW rotation puts the reflection back in line and brings the 'horizon' into line too.

Beautiful atmospheric shot - the mist is something else! Definitely one I can see on walls. Agree about the CW rotation
