Pheasant
I met this pheasant a few weeks ago in the fields.
I had to crop a lot.

Shooting Mode Manual Exposure
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/800
Av( Aperture Value ) 4.0
Metering Mode Evaluative Metering
ISO Speed 100
Focal Length 500.0 mm
White Balance Mode Color Temperature(4000K)

C&C welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi Tom

Great eye contact but because the bird is facing away from the light there are important areas of the image that are a little on the dark side!

I have to agree with David on this one Tom. On my monitor the image looks far too dark and an awful lot of blocked shadow areas. A shame really because it could be a nice portrait. You mentioned you had to crop a lot, perhaps try to back off a bit and include a bit more background, especially to the left of the bird.
All the best.

Yep same here, most of the colour and iridescence in the throat feathers is lost in shadow. Give him a tap on the shoulder
