Whats going on above.
D3 + 600mm AFS II + 1.4 conv.
1/80 @ f5.6.
ISO 640.
AF Area Mode Dynamic 21 point.

Found a group of Little Owls on a farm near by.
Visited yesterday evening and this evening trying to build up a picture of what and when they do things.
Found them yesterday whilst working at the farm and during the duration one of them sat on top of an old buliding observing. It didnt bat an eyelid even when I pulled up and had a closer look.
Of course no camera with me, so I am working on it.

Major.

Great pose & composition, love it :toast:

Like the overall colours, very soft coupled with the owl, especially the red BG. Just great! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Wow lovely shot Major!! Great pose and setting. Is this a young one? Looks kinda fluffy!

I have a group of these nearby too, but I'm having trouble getting anything decent of them.... :frown: Keep trying I guess!!

I'm probably being too harsh to mention the beak? Just feel that with it being OOF the image loses part of that instant orientation. But then with a smaller aperture you'd have more intrusion from the BG. Difficult one, but otherwise lovely, look forward to more.

Magnus the beak is sharp its just that in my processing I over looked that area.
Took another look at the original just to confirm.
