Hi John,

Lovely shot. On a related note, how do you find the Sigma 100-300mm? I've been thinking of getting this lens, among others, and it would be good to hear your opinion on it..

Cheers,

Dan.

Thank all.
Dan- I love it !! It's ideal for the close hide work I do, and on top of that it works very well with the Sigma 1.4 teleconverter. I use it nearly all the time at my pool and a lot of the time at my hides scattered around the garden ( and other places ! ) I nearly went for the 2.8 but couldn't really afford it to be honest and also it,s a bit heavy to cart around at my age. !! :frown:

Cheers

This is a good advert for the Sigma 100-300 - another lovely shot with great detail.

Another cracking shot John and no nits from me. Well almost...... since my eye lit upon that little single piece of oof green weed just right of top centre it keeps distracting me. Now is that a real saddo case of hyper nit picking or what?
All the best
Robert

Lovely flycatcher John only nit is that the bits of algae or fern poking through the surface are quite bright on my (non-calibrated) monitor.

Hi John,

Sorry for the slow reply. Thanks for the information about the lens. I've been on the verge of buying it for a while, but have been considering some longer lenses as well. I like he idea of hiring lenses to test them out, but it's not a cheap thing to do in the UK. I'll let you know when I make my choice!

Cheers,

Dan.
