On my home from Sonora Pass, I found this patch of lupine, etc on 395 a a few miles below the Sonora Pass turnoff. Barbed wire prevented me from getting into the field, so I did the best I could from the perimeter.

Harley,
You're killing me! Next time you tell me it's all rank.... you've lost all credibility. What a glorious field of lupine! The orange/yellow flower in the middle really draws my eye and almost make me feel like this is a "zoomed" image; it's like I can't take my eye away from this field of beautiful wildflowers.
The only minor alteration I would suggest is a 5% crop top and left to eliminate the darker corner in the UL. Very minor, but I think it would enhance and concentrate the view in to the center of the field of Lupine. The colors are rich and right-on.
This belongs on your website/portfolio and worth every mile you had to drive home.
What the hey man? I wish I had a few, "on my way home" shots like this one. Really a super capture, Harley. I think Lon's suggestion is an excellent thought of the very slight adjustment here. The entire scene has benefited from the 4x5 capture too, with excellent focus and DOF throughout, even at this size. I guess more importantly to me is the fact that it sounds like the image was caught by happenstance. It truly seems as though some of the best work is captured by just being out there and not necessarily at the planned sight and at a specific time per se. As a result, these images seem to hold stronger in the old memory banks, at least for me.

Harley,
Once again, you demonstrate you have a wonderful eye for color and composition. Too bad about the barbed wire keeping you out of the filed, but this is just a really great capture. I agree with Lon's suggestion about the crop. Best Regards.
