We just returned for an amazing trip to Banff.
Incredible, incredible, incredible sights.
I hope you can take a few moments and look at the photos on my site in the brand new Canadian Rockies Gallery. I would love to hear your comments.
There must be something in the water up there. When I post a shot on Flickr, I usually get between 5-10 views and 0-5 comments. I posted this photo of Moraine Lake last Friday. It has received over 2400 views and 90 comments, so far. By Saturday, Flickr had put it into its Explore/Interestingness group as one of the most viewed photos on Flickr. Go figure.
All of these photos were taken with a 40D and a 17-85 lens, usually wide open, between 17-20mm, at iso 100. I also used a polarizer or a grad or both on every shot.
Thanks, everyone.

I'm assuming you shot wide open so you could shoot handheld?
On some shots, such as this one, I opened up to f5 to try to compensate for wind. I didn't want wind-blown foliage to make the shots look soft.
To my surprise, even when I opened to f5, there was plenty of dof, probably due to the wide angle.

I stood almost in this exact spot in July 1999 and captured a similar scene on film, but without the wonderful clouds you have here.
Great color rendition, processing, and presentation, Mr Warley!
You deserve the attention Lance.....wonderful shot my friend!!!
