Hi everyone. This is an update of the thread about the Snowy Range Rich started and I thought I'd make it a new post so it wouldn't be missed by the handful of RMNP people who are on their way up here, or are thinking about it. I've been there twice in the past week and thought I'd post a few pics to give you an idea of the current conditions:

All of these DSLR snaps were taken from the Lakes trail which can be accessed from the Mirror Lake picnic area. All the snow is melted off the trail and the columbines are out in force. This is a great year to come here - better wildflowers than I've seen in the 4 summers I've lived in Laramie. I'm heading to the Sugarloaf area for sunrise tomorrow (Saturday) and will add a few more pics then if there are any worth posting.

It looks like it's beautiful up there. I'm heading to the Wind River range in a week. I hope I find similar conditions.

BTW, I love that "wildlife" shot.

Great stuff, Brett! Keep 'em coming!

I'll be up there next weekend with some of the other doods.

Thanks for the report. I really enjoyed your gallery. I hope to finally make it up there this summer.

That's a GREAT collection of Snowy Range shots. You've got lots of good stuff throughout your galleries as well. Niiiiice stuff!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I had hoped to shoot sunrise this morning but the 25 mph winds outside my front door at 3:30 persuaded me to sleep in rather than drive 45 minutes and hike 45 minutes while praying for a glassy reflection on the lake I wanted to photograph. I'll be sure to post more images next week. After that, I'm afraid I will have to forego the Snowies for a week as my 4x5 and I head to Glacier National Park. What a rough summer this is turning out to be.

Excellent collection from the Snowies - and a nice addition to your already impressive portfolio on the area. I love #338.
