Cormorant...
40D, 300/4, handheld resting camera and lens on the pool bank.
ISO400, 1/640th @ f5.6, EV -1/3,
C1 v4, WB to daylight + a slight warming, resize & sharpen CS3
Full height of frame, small crop from rear of bird.

Hi,

One from a sort of impromptu UKNP meet of 5 of us from Kent... a very co-operative Juvenile (I think) Cormorant...

Presented loads of opportunities, I have about 30 - 40 usable images, I am sure more will appear....

Have been insanely busy over the last week and am now on a weeks leave... going to try and get some sleep

All the best

Phil

Cracking shot where the low angle works. Maybe a tad left rotation ?

Great shot Phil, fab detail in the blacks, love the way the water and BG just merge into one another. POV is spot on

Absolutely beautiful shot! Lovely detail, beautiful colour, great pose!! I agree it could do with a tiny bit of rotation, but a stunning shot!!!

an excellent image Phil, the low viewpoint works a treat. It does seem to be swimming downhill though

As usual Phil, its a wonderful shot, but the most amazing thing for me is that you got this close to any cormorant. I have to agree with Matt about the horizon though.

Great work Phil, and wish I went back for my 300 now...! Still getting something as good as this would have been very demanding with the 150mm I had at the time.. hee! hee!.. Great to catch up with you again and hope we can meet up again soon.

kind regards,

Brett.
