As Brett said its fantastic this year. The wildflowers are great and the columbine are at there peak. It was a great day with blue skies and large white cloud formations. Also the creeks are still flowing and the waterfalls were great, the banks were loaded with many different flowers. Most of my shooting was with slide film but also took some digital. Will post after sorting through.

Can you recommend some trails and spots to check out?

Jelvis, Several trails are mentioned in other post on the RMNP site. When climbing to the top out of Centennial near the top you will see some turn offs on the right. Park your car and climb up the bank. You will see lupine and columbines and other flowers with the Snowy range in the background. Also as you descend toward the picnic area (mirror lake area) you will see a lot of wildflowers on your right you can frame them against the peaks also.

Jelvis,

I think Don is referring to the turnoff for the Sugarloaf Recreation Area - it's a well marked turnoff, but if you hit the big left bend and start heading south to Lake Marie, you've gone too far. Take the road back into the recreation area and you'll see several parking/picnic areas with trailheads. The area around Lewis Lake is really nice. There's also plenty of great views from the main road. The area around Lake Marie is beautiful. You can't go wrong out there!
