Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon"
Providence Canyon near Lumpkin, Ga is worth visiting if you are in the area. The clay has been eroded to 150' deep.

This was to be my next photo shoot stop, Jim. Have you been down to the floor of the canyon. Many great shots are available from the floor looking up. I have been there many times. My last photos were stolen( these were taken before digiital)so I am excited about being able to use digital and my 500mm lens.Great job.

Nice shot Jim! I would love to see a vertical on a day with deep blue skies and a few puffy white clouds.

Thanks for sharing,

Harold

Hi Jackie: I did walk down to the bottom. Attached is a detail of the canyon wall. It's an interesting place.

You are right Harold some puffy clouds would add a lot to the image.

Nice color. Plan to get over there this fall. Any advice on where to go in the canyon?

Hi G Robert:
There is one main trail that goes into the canyon which starts at the museum. Also there is a nice camp ground about 8 miles away at Florence Marina State Park.
