Kingfisher
I was beginning to think I'd become jinxed at a favourite hide for kingfishers but yesterday I spent six hours there and apart from some reasonable acion shots of a heron catching eels and a flounder, this little chap kindly arrived and posed for me. Not only did he pose thus but also turned around to give a nice rear on view. It's times like this that make it worth getting up at 5.30 and sitting, waiting for hours. Not bad, six hours for two minutes of pictures. No wonder my missus thinks I'm nuts!

Nice Rob, I sat for about two hours today at my local pool testing my new gear, and it seems to of grown two kingfishers, to add unsult to injury, as i packed up i put my macro lens on and as a put my tele in the bag, one landed very close... i was livid! But i saw a weasel on my way home which cheered me up.

Nice image, the white lower corner is a little bright. Good detail in the bird though.

Hi Robert
Good shot but your previous 'kingfisher/enviro' post does more for me.
Cheers, Chris

Thanks for the comments folks.
Paul, I agree about the bottom right corner. I had the lens set up on this perch but on the end of it. That gave me a nice smooth green background but unfortunately the bird decided it wanted to perch lower down and hence the 'white' water reflection. A bit of a pain but hey, I'm grateful to have got anything as that particular perch can be quite hopeless at certain times of the day.
