I drove up to the Snowy Range in Wyoming this morning. Yes, the previous reports are true. Wildflowers everywhere, still some snow banks melting off, skeeters are prolific, and you'd be crazy not to head up there soon. This pic was taken from the Sugarloaf Rec. Area. However, the Lakes Trail is busting out with Columbine and Glacier Lillys now. The wind was making photographing them tricky though. I got runoff by a mean nasty storm (torrential rain, hail and lightning) around noon, so morning is your best bet. I'm seriously considering returning next weekend as that storm kept me from working several spots I found.

Ok for us Denverites, how long a drive is it to get there???? You aren't that far away, so what time did ya leave at for good light?
It's about a 3.5 hour drive from Denver to the pass. Most of the photo locations from the recent posts are, or have trailheads that are, within a 15 minute drive of the pass.
The Snowies seems to be the new Hot Spot. So who's going to write the article for the RMNP Hot Spot page??
