I've been doing some more work on my local ospreys in recent weeks but with very little success. The two chicks in the nest are just about fledged now so the opportunity has passed for this year - am now kicking myself I didn't create the time earlier in the season. Anyway, this is the male alighting on an 'artificial' perch placed in the riverbed from which he regularly grooms.
Very nice indeed. I was surprised when I looked at your techs and saw a 300, must be amazing to have an Osprey coming in close. Exposed perfectly movement in the right places and head sharp as tack............perfect !!
Hello Peter, beautiful looking bird and nice background / perch but I find the composition a little unbalanced. To be honest I can't quite put my finger on what unsettles it. Perhaps a bit more space around the bird and in particular to the left and beneath it.

Hi Peter, great bird and fantastic perch! But for me the blurred wingtips detract from the head, my eye keeps being drawn to them. It is a great shot though of a shy bird.
It's subjective I know, but for me I would like static wings here, don't know why, but I'm a bit weird!!! What I'd do for a shot like this though!! Superb Peter and you should be well pleased.
I just love Osprey and to see a great shot like this makes me very envious. Would like to see more of them but have seen more in Africa and S. America than I have hear..! Even had one land on the balcony of the room next to mine in Egypt once too..
