Taken in Yankee Boy Basin a few days ago. If you don't count the steady procession of Jeeps, Suburbans and Duallies going up and down the road, as well as the myriad photographers of clearly differing levels of ability, I basically had the place to myself.
A few minor details on the post-processing: The leaf in the top back was about the same tone as the leaves cradling the columbine, so I selected the background leaf and darkened it to take away some of its emphasis. Okay, one detail.
Wow, not a cloud in the frame. This is really a strong composition, Todd. I like the contrast in textures, shapes, and colors. Good choice to de-emphasize the back leaves also.
Great light for intimate flower portraits!. Really nice colours in this image, very different comp with the Columbine resting in the corn lily leaves. I like this alot!.

Beautiful color, I really like the texture too.
The upper right region still draws my eye. If you wouldn't the tip of the upper left leaf, I'd suggest cropping more closely.
Muy Bueno!

I like it. I'm not sure if the sharpening is to blame or if it is something else, but there does seem to be some fringing on the columbine.
