Red Kite
Having spent a weekend at Seahouses and not been able to get to the Farnes due to the bad weather decided to try my luck at Rhayader. This is one of a series of shots of Red Kite I took at Gigrin

This is OK Kim . Nice position in the frame too. I would imagine it's quite a big crop ?
Cheers

Thanks John and Magnus, yes it was quite a big crop John - lens 400mm and the birds are some distance away! Do you reckon it should have been less?

Nice picture, and I really like the composition. You'll have to go back and get the same shot full frame - which would a belter !!

Unlucky with Seahouses. I was there a few weeks ago and got out a couple of times, but talked to many frustrated folks who had failed to set off on a number of occasions. In my case, it made up for the three days of horizontal rain and then fog at Bempton the week before!

Nice pose but a pity about it being such a big crop. You must have been very unlucky as normally they will come close enough to the hides at some point for a 400mm to get frame-filling shots.

Hello Kim.

Nice shot of the Red Kite. You must have just been unlucky as I use the same camera and lens. And full frame shots are quite easy to get. You'll have to return and have another go. Its well worth it when you get a cracking full frame shot of one of these birds.
