Spring Tide
Taken on a day in May 2007, at Harris Beach State Park, OR. This is one of my few photos looking directly at the sun, so I processed this to bring out detail in the FG without much noticeable noise hopefully.

Processed extremely low contrast in RAW, and then brought back with curves layers and selective dodging and burning.

Canon EOS 20D
Canon EF 24-105mm L IS @ 24mm
f/22 : 1.3 secs : ISO 100 : -2 EV

Polarzier and 2 soft GND

Chris: This looks really great, but I would crop out the URC cloud that looks like a contrail.

Great shot and processing. The contrail doesnt bother me, my eyes dont really notivce it as the rocks and sun pull me to the left.

Really nice! I would agree on the crop off the top, not because of the contrail but IMHO it would make it a stronger composition bringing my eyes to settle on the FG and horizon.

Chris,
This is a nice one. Holding the foreground detail with the brightness of the sky adds depth and sets this apart. I wouldn't hesitate to hang this on my wall. Excellent!

Very Nice Image !!, except for the contrail.

I believe they should be left out of any Quality Nature Image !!

Well, ditto about the contrail. A bit of a crop off the top also allows the halo around the sun to stand out better; at least it did for me. Very nice comp and great darkroom work. It's beautiful.

A nice scene that could really sing with some simple processing.....the sky is a tad washed out for my liking but the exposure on the sun is excellent! :toast:
