Foss Mountain Sunset...
I had the pleasure of spending an evening picking blueberries and exploring Foss Mountain in Fredom/Eaton NH the other night. If you've never been, as I hadn't, it is spectacular. A 15 minute hike on a well graded trail and you are on a bald 'summit' with a stunning 360 view of the whites. The most bang for the buck I've found. And sooooo many blueberries.

Sunset was okay...I came away with this shot, of the sun behind Chocorua as most of the bigger peaks were in the clouds...

Any ?'s feel free...

Thanks Chris.

It's on Foss Mountain road which is two lefts of Brownfield road which goes past Chrystal Lake. The road there though is steep, narrow and poor dirt.

Here's the map...
The trail cuts through the middle of the field in the lower portion of the image...and you can see the ledges on the summit...

Nice capture Jim. How far of a drive is this from where you are?

Hi Jim,

Great to hear you've moved up here. This overlook is about an hour and a half from Epping, but there are some nice views nearer here (google Pawtuckaway, Blue Job and Massabesic Ledge)

Time to shoot is short through Mid September, and thereafter I hope to shoot every weekend...and as often as possible after school. I'll respond in your autumn thread...as I have my autumn weekends planned out. Some hiking, some roadside...all beautiful.

Also looking forward to contacting Jim Deasy and seeing what his plans are...

Scott, I owe you an email as well...life has been very busy...
