I use Jos. Holmes Dcam3 colorspace. When I save a series of images and open them in Autopano Pro the program is automatically assigning sRGB as the colorspace and wiping out my Dcam3. After the stitch I open a drab, ugly image in CS3 because of this. Does anyone know if I can change this colorspace option in APP? Thanks in advance.
Uwe Steinmuller's recent review suggests that "(his) version does not keep the color profiles from the source images. This means we assign (not convert!!) the profile back when we open the rendered image in CS3".
This appears to be confirmed in this thread at an APP forum.
I hate to hear that. Re-assigning the original colorspace does not mean it will look like the original again. Seems like it ought to be that way but sadly it's not, at least not with Jos. Holmes Dcam3. When I re-assign the original Dcam3 profile I get some funky colors, especially with the blues. Looks like I may have to go back to using Adobe 1998 on stitched panos as it handles the profile reassignment better. Thanks for your help.
That's interesting Bill - unless AutoPano is doing some sort of color conversion during stitching, re-assigning the profile should go back to the original colors. Are you doing anything like exposure correction or color correction during stitching? Or is it just doing the stitching itself?
Hi David. I do no color correction or manipulatipon at all in APP. It would make sense that I could simply reassign the base Dcam3 profile, but it just doesn't work. Frustrating!
