Bowman Lake series, GNP...
I decided to take a little break from wedding files to post some images from my first night in Glacier. As I mentioned in my first post, the weather was hot and hazy when i got to the park at mid-day, so after consulting my handy Trails Illustrated map I headed for the far NW corner of the park. After finding a camp spot I headed over to the lake to check it out. It was what I imagined a lake in this part of the world would look like, beautiful. Unfortunately it didn't look like the weather would cooperate -- still warm and with a clear blue sky. So I took a little hike to kill some time and as I was retuning, I noticed some clouds starting to build west of me. I crossed my fingers and found myself a spot on the shore to wait for the sun to drop. I lucked out. The clouds continued to build and I was treated to what started as nice light, then turned into a nuclear sunset, then a pastel twilight. Oh, and I was the only person with a tripod -- anywhere. I hope you like the series....

Very nice series, Paul. It's interesting to watch the procession of clouds and changing light.

I can't really agree that this is a nuclear sunset, but I'd take this over clear, hazy skies any day.
